One man, church officials believe, has been ripping down Pride flags since April.
"I love the idea of shaking up that big cities are the only places that LGBTQ+ people can thrive," one resident told CBS News.

"Our goals are to provide a safe, inclusive, family-friendly environment accessible to all who would like to attend, in the downtown area of Elgin."
The current policy recommends barring gay and bisexual men from donating blood and plasma within three months of their most recent sexual encounter.
Twenty-two Attorneys General, including Illinois' Kwame Raoul, are calling for an end to the FDA's blood donation policy they say stigmatizes the LGBTQ+ community.
The Lake in the Hills bakery that was harassed after supporting the LGBTQ community might still close even though thousands of dollars were raised to keep it open. UpRising Bakery and Café announced it may have to close at the end of the month. The store was vandalized after planning a drag brunch.
Church representatives told CBS 2 that's not exactly what happened.
The suit claimed the vagueness of the Aurora Special Events Ordinance allowed the city to interfere.
