Police in southwest suburban Joliet shot a person who allegedly forcibly entered a home with a handgun Wednesday morning.
The crash happened just after 5:00 a.m. at the intersection of South Chicago Street and McDonough Street. Officers responded to the scene of a traffic crash with injuries.
The Volkswagen had two male and three female occupants. All five were taken to local hospitals in critical condition by the Joliet Fire Department.
Initial reports say the resident attacked the victim while in the laundry room after becoming angry about the victim's use of the washing machine.
