Three people were shot Monday night in the Englewood neighborhood. The incident happened near 59th and Ashland Avenue around 7:20 p.m.
The ceremony honored influential parents in the community, handing out trophies to deserving moms and dads as well as local leaders and others who inspire Englewood families.
This is at least the fourth time the church has been targeted since mid-March.
An Englewood church was targeted by burglars and it wasn't the first time. Chicago police said Antioch Baptist Church was hit again late last month. Burglars busted out windows to get inside and steal items.

Community members in Englewood are working together to fight gun violence.
Another vehicle pulled up alongside the victims and someone inside fired shots.
"Having my associate degree has helped me and my family save like, a bunch of money that I would have spent on my two years. Now I can go into college as like a junior and just finish my two years and then get a job."
The shooting took place near 70th and Halsted streets.
A group of people were on the sidewalk in the 7000 block of South Halsted Street when someone began shooting from a gray Dodge Durango.
Chicago officials are gearing up for the Memorial Day weekend and an anticipated spike in violence with a $2.5 million investment in community organizations like one police officer's in Englewood.
As the company works to rebuild trust and build out in Englewood, some neighbors said they're furious with the expansion. CBS 2's Shardaa Gray listened to their concerns and spoke one-on-one with the company's CEO.
No one was reported in custody.

A graduation celebration took over the streets in Englewood on Friday. Graduating seniors from Percy Julian High School took part in the annual "Graduates over Guns March."
Thursday afternoon, police said Takai had been located, but did not provide any further details.
