Chopper 2 flew on Thursday over what is believed to be the first CosMc’s in the country – in Bolingbrook off Weber Road.
CBS 2's Shardaa Gray reports the workers Bolingbrook and Naperville workers said they have been out here the past four days on the picket lines. They said they're prepared to stand in solidarity for as long as it takes.
"We've only gotten two 6% wage increases in the last eight years. Our wages are 21% behind when you look at inflation. And the company has a 20% offer on the table right now."
CBS 2's Shardaa Gray reports the auto workers said they're not asking for anything that isn't out of line. They want their pension back, as well as tiered wages and to bring back the cost of living allowances that they used to have.
UAW is now calling on all 38 GM and Stellantis parts and distribution centers nationwide to join the strike.
"We're not going to wait around forever for a fair contract," UAW President Shawn Fain said. "The companies know how to make this right."
Workers at the Naperville Stellantis distribution center in Naperville headed to the picket line right when the strike expanded. They said they will be there until they put on enough pressure to tip the negotiation needle. CBS 2's Sabrina Franza reports.
Timothy Terrell Davis, 28, has been charged with three counts of first-degree murder, one count of armed habitual criminal, and one count of unlawful use of a weapon by a felon.
