The weekend weather in Maryland will include a mix of showers, storms and sunshine. There will be a risk of showers and thunderstorms in the Baltimore area Friday between 8 p.m. and midnight.
Wednesday's forecast in Maryland features plenty of sunshine with some light to moderate haze from Canadian wildfire smoke. The air will be a smidge more muggy with highs in the upper 80s to near 90°. The hottest temperatures will be inland, away from Chesapeake Bay.
Aurora Borealis, or northern lights, may be seen in Maryland.
A few storms are possible across central Maryland through early evening.

Ernesto regained hurricane strength on Sunday, forecasters said, and will continue to bring "life-threatening surf and rip current conditions" to the U.S. East Coast.
