For refugees who fled violence, a lifeline in the form of a job fair
Hundreds of refugees packed a job fair recently, with many companies committed to hiring them and providing needed support to succeed in the workplace.

The annual back to school giveaway will be held Saturday at five locations.
"For me, exposure is everything. A lot of our kids don't know what it looks like outside of Chicago. A lot of our kids think that out of town is Indiana, and we all know that's right across the border."
Snelling was born and raised in the Englewood neighborhood, and later policed the community in the Englewood (7th) District.
"I think Trigild has done what a lot of landlords refuse to do, which is work with and negotiate with organized tenants."
Serabi Medina's father tackled Michael Goodman after he shot the girl, causing the gun to go off and shoot Goodman in the eye, prosecutors said.
Witnesses said the girl's father attacked the shooting suspect and a gun went off during the struggle.
"We definitely buy and keep bottles of water and gallons, just in case, because anything can happen."
"It's a humiliating problem to continue to put a small bandaid on something when our state and federal government must apply some form of help or relief to the Village of Robbins."
