Detroit Schools superintendent Nikolai Vitti visits schools on first day of class
Dr. Nikolai Vitti visited several schools across the district Monday to greet students and staff on the first day of classes.

Gino Vicci was born and raised in Detroit.
He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Rochester College with a bachelor's degree in Communications. At Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism, he obtained a master's degree. While there, Gino was awarded the Bloomberg scholarship and the Athena Robbins Scholarship.
Gino began his journalism career as an associate producer at Local 4 WDIV in Detroit. He went on to work as a news anchor and reporter for CBS affiliate WNEM in Flint/Saginaw where he was part of a team that was the first to report on the Flint water crisis.
Gino was also awarded the Michigan Association of Broadcasters - Broadcast Excellence Award.
He then moved back home to work on-air for the ABC affiliate WXYZ-TV in Detroit until 2018.
