Victim dies weeks after being struck by hit-and-run driver in Long Beach

The victim, only identified as a 48-year-old homeless man, was struck by an SUV on Aug. 3 at around 9:30 p.m., police said.
The incident happened early Friday morning in the 1300 block of W. Mission Boulevard, according to police.
Police released footage of the crash on Friday, which shows the moments that the woman hurtles onto the street after being hit by the car on Van Nuys Boulevard.
Family members say that the victim suffered a head injury when he was attacked in Koreatown in late July.
Investigators say that the man stopped his car and ran from the scene of the crash on foot late Friday evening.
Police say that the first incident happened at around 8 p.m., just about thirty minutes before another 7-Eleven store was ransacked.
