Two Riverside County men were arrested for an alleged shooting that killed a 22-year-old Orange County man during a meetup to sell a luxury item over the weekend, according to police.
The 56-year-old woman claimed to be a Pasadena resident whose property was impacted by the Eaton Fire, according to the U.S. Department of Justice. They also said that she fraudulently received more than $50k in jobless benefits during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The shooting happened at around 3:51 p.m. in the 8400 block of Fern Road in Rosemead, according to a news release from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.
Residents were asked to stay inside, shut their doors and windows and stop running air conditioning units due to the smoke from the fire.
Police say that the suspect and victim were unknown to each other before the fight broke out.
