Amanda Callahan is a reporter for WBZ-TV.
She joined WBZ in August 2026 from WFSB in Hartford, Connecticut, where she worked for two years as a reporter and fill-in anchor.
In Connecticut, Amanda spent much of her time on the night shift, covering breaking news across the state, severe weather, and stories involving local politicians facing corruption allegations. She also covered a case that garnered national attention out of Waterbury, where a woman is accused of holding her stepson captive for decades.
Before that, Amanda spent more than three years at WGGB in Springfield, where she rose from content producer to reporter to weekday morning anchor. While at WGGB, she earned an Emmy nomination for breaking news reporting on a kidnapping that crossed state lines.
Amanda is a proud Boston College Eagle. She graduated in 2020 with degrees in Communication and Journalism and was a member of the varsity dance team.
A Wakefield native, Amanda is thrilled to be back home and reporting in the state where she grew up.
When she's not working, you can find her at the beach, spending time with family and friends, or trying out the latest Italian restaurants in Boston.
