In the winter of 1982 in Rochester, New York, Jim Krauseneck says he came home from work to find his wife, Cathy Krauseneck, lying in bed, dead with an ax lodged in her head.
In 1982, Cathy Krauseneck, a young mother, was killed in her bed – an ax lodged in her head. Investigators believe the crime scene was staged to look like a burglary to cover up the real crime – the intentional murder of Cathy by her husband.
"48 Hours" investigates one of America's oldest cold cases, the Brighton ax murder. Forty years ago, a young mother was killed in her bed, her toddler left unharmed. It remained unsolved until now. "48 Hours" correspondent Erin Moriarty reports.
