Trump holds first rally since leaving office

Former President Trump returned to the rally circuit on Saturday night. His trip to Ohio was billed as a chance to exact some revenge against one of the House Republicans who voted to impeach Mr. Trump, but the former president's speech largely focused on his complaints about the Biden administration and repeating false claims about the 2020 election. Biden rolling out gun crime prevention plan

President Biden is unveiling a new initiative aimed at tackling what he calls the nation's "gun violence epidemic." The administration's initiatives include stemming the flow of illegal guns, supporting local law enforcement and investing in community violence intervention methods. The administration will also expand summer programming and employment opportunities for teenagers and young adults and lay out a strategy to help formerly incarcerated individuals successfully reenter their communities. Paul Smith, director of reconciliation at the National Network for Safe Communities at John Jay College of Criminal Justice, joined CBSN to discuss.

U.S. expected to miss Biden's COVID vaccination goal

As CBS News' Nancy Cordes reports, the White House admits on Tuesday that it won't meet President Biden's goal of partially vaccinating at least 70% of adults by July 4.
