A Pittsburgh-area man is facing a terrorism-related charge after the FBI believed he was planning an attack in support of ISIS.
Federal officials said Jonathan Kramer had armed himself to carry out a mass casualty attack against the American people.
Jonathan Kramer, 21, appeared in federal court in Pittsburgh and waived his preliminary hearing.
The suspect, who was killed following the shooting, had previously been imprisoned for several years for trying to support ISIS, the FBI said.
The FBI's field office in Charlotte, North Carolina, said the potential attack was inspired by ISIS.
