Route 42 at the I-295 overpass is jammed because of police activity. Three lanes are blocked on the southbound side from 295 to Route 55. Northbound is closed from Creek Road to I-295.
Drivers are being directed to get off at Exit 26. The ramp reopens at 5 a.m. Friday.
Before November 2023 there was no direct connection from I-295 north to Route 42 south or from 42N to I-295S.
