Chance of severe storms in Philadelphia Sunday as remnants of Hurricane Isaias hit region. Here's the forecast.
The remnants of Isaias are bringing the Philadelphia region our fifth wet Sunday in a row. We're under a NEXT Weather Alert until 11 p.m.
Washout! That's the simplest way to describe the day. Umbrellas are a must and sunglasses are a bust. Plus, grab a sweater, sweatshirt, or light jacket because we only reach the mid-60s.
Logic says make indoor plans, but if you need to be on the roads, slow your roll and use caution due to slippery conditions and ponding.
The steady showers will continue all day with periods of heavy rain that could add up to 1-3 inches, and localized flooding. A gusty storm may even develop across Delaware and far South Jersey due to the remnant low from Isaias passing by just to the south of our area.
By this evening, the steady rain will give way to scattered showers and isolated storms which linger through early Monday morning.
NEXT big weather changes
Up next are sunshine and warmth, followed by a big dip in temperatures.
Skies will clear Monday afternoon and that clearing remains until Thursday with temperatures chasing 80s by Wednesday.
However, what goes up must come down, and if you love a fall chill, then next weekend will make you feel warm and fuzzy like a toasted marshmallow over a bonfire.
The weekend highs will top out in the 50s and the nights dip to the upper 30s to low 40s.
Cooler air, however, will follow behind the front and keep temperatures in the 60s through the second half of the week. The next chance of rain is Friday.
After that, even cooler air looks to arrive for next weekend, when high temperatures may struggle to climb out of the 50s.
