General manager John Idzik won't release Tim Tebow before March, according to a report, and will instead attempt to trade him.
"I think by next February, you'll see that New Jersey will have recovered a good amount from the storm, and it will be a good way to turn the page from being victims to being survivors and thrivers," Christie said.
NFL commissioner Roger Goodell said that next year's Super Bowl at the stadium used by the Giants and Jets will "have an impact on future decisions for open-air, cold-weather sites."
"I've always enjoyed (Rex Ryan) as a coach and as a person," Umenyiora said. "That might be a good fit. (But) hopefully it will be with the Giants.''
Exhibit A: Mark Sanchez's contract, a major factor in the Jets' salary cap predicament.
"I think the brand is promoted by winning," Tannenbaum said. "...All (Johnson) cared about was winning. You guys have been to our facility, (and) it's the best facility of any team in any sport in the country. And that's really what he cares about."
"It was my decision," Tannenbaum said. "...We felt that it was going to be another club in the bag to help us on offense. That was our thinking when we made the decision."
The Jets have had "some very exploratory, informal discussions" about the mega-bust quarterback, according to the Newark Star-Ledger.
If the Jets are comfortable with Mark Sanchez, they simply cannot feel the least bit comfortable with Darrelle Revis. Because all of their talk of due diligence pertaining to improving this team has everything to do with money.
"Mark is a New York Jet," Idzik told WFAN's Boomer & Carton on Monday. "We're glad to have him. I think he's a competitor."
You see, there's a public relations game to be played here. This year's 6-10 face-plant alone has Jets fans steamed plenty.
If Revis decides after next year that he wants another big payday, then the Jets will be left with no Revis and no compensation were he to depart via free agency.
There's not an easy answer to the Revis conundrum. Rebuilding an empty Jets roster is the key to the process for the new GM. Starting with the best defensive player in the sport should be the way to go.
One NFL GM told CBS Sports that the interest in the cornerback is "one of the biggest potential trade markets for a player ever." He added that it compares to when Reggie White left Philadelphia and when Peyton Manning was available last offseason.
John Idzik declared his first order of business is to review the Jets' entire roster and decide who stays, who goes and who they need to come in and be part of the solution.
"This was, for an opening press conference, somewhere between awful and disappointing," Francesa said. "It was not (a) disaster, but it was close. It was anything but forceful ... Nothing in anything you heard would make anybody confident."
John Idzik stood in front of the masses at the Jets' facility in Florham Park, N.J., on Thursday and boldly laid out the future for a franchise in dire need of a star map.
"I think it's way premature to say anything specific," Idzik said in regard to Revis. "I think it would be presumptuous to say anything on that." That didn't stop the cornerback from taking to Twitter to address the situation.
"I'm hoping that I have the opportunity to work with the young man and help him with his on-field preparation and his off-field preparation," Garcia told WFAN co-hosts Joe Benigno and Evan Roberts on Thursday.

John Idzik took the podium Thursday with a massive job ahead -- turning around the embattled Jets.
The symbolism is always endless around the Jets. And trading Darrelle Revis could raise more than doubts. It could fly a white flag for years.
When asked directly if the unorthodox quarterback could succeed in the pros, John Elway said "in the right situation I think it's a possibility."
Imagine the Jets without Darrelle Revis? Never happen, right? Well, never say never. It's quite possible it could happen sooner rather than later.
