If he can make a few people start hurting, starting with some Jets receivers on Saturday, he'll be on his way. And the Giants' secondary will be better for it.
The Giants shuffled their offensive line on Tuesday. Pugh has taken over at the right tackle position. Left guard Kevin Boothe was moved to center to replace Baas and the versatile David Diehl shifted from right tackle to left guard.
According to various reports, the Giants have waived injured guard Chris DeGeare and wide receiver Keith Carlos.

The New York Giants received some good news from doctors regarding injuries to wide receiver Victor Cruz and center David Baas.
Victor Cruz only bruised his left heel in the first quarter of New York's 20-12 loss to the Indianapolis Colts.
Tom Coughlin was anything but happy. The Giants were limited to four field goals on five trips inside the Indianapolis 30.
Before the first half was over, wide receiver Victor Cruz (bruised heel) and defensive end Justin Tuck (slightly strained hamstring) also became a cause of concern.
The Indianapolis Colts' Andrew Luck threw for 107 yards and two touchdowns Sunday night, leading to a bad night for the Giants.
Giants starting center David Baas also was knocked out of the game with a sprained knee.
