According to multiple reports, the Giants have brought back Brandon Jacobs on a one-year deal.
"David Wilson only has two options -- he can either get in the tank, or he can man up," Giants safety Antrel Rolle said Tuesday on WFAN.
"It's absolutely not true," Giants coach Tom Coughlin said Monday. "Both of those payers were injured. Connor never returned to the game. Cullen was in a position where he needed to regroup. That really wasn't orchestrated at all."
Most of the focus after New York's Week 1 loss has been on second-year RB David Wilson, who was benched in the second half due to fumble-itis. Victor Cruz knows what he's going through.
Offensively, the New York Giants and Denver Broncos put up stellar statistics in their season openers last week. But in the stat that really counts, the Broncos have a 1-0 record, and the Giants are seeking their first victory in the 2013 NFL season. New York will be less concerned about the "Manning Bowl" victor, and more interested in playing an error-free game.
Brandon Jacobs played for the Giants from 2005-11. On Twitter, Jacobs said he'd "give it all I got" to get back with Big Blue.
Coughlin refused to discuss his starting lineup, noting the team needs Wilson.
