It's one thing to lose four straight games. It's another thing to NOT HAVE WON a game. And it's yet another thing when you consider that the Giants haven't tasted any sort of victory since their preseason opener.
According to ESPN, the NFL is in discussions to reduce the preseason slate from four games to three. The regular season would still consist of 16 games.
"If anyone turns on our coach, I would be the first one to punch him in the mouth," the defensive end said. "And put that in print. It better not happen, I know that."
The New York Giants came into Sunday's away contest against the Kansas City Chief winless at 0-3 and just off the worst loss in head coach Tom Coughlin's tenure at the helm. Last week's 38-0 loss to the Carolina Panthers continued a downward spiral that has seen poor pass protection, turnovers and lack of a running game. Meanwhile, through three games the Kansas City Chiefs led the NFL with a (+13) turnover margin. KC linebacker Justin Houston lead the NFL with 7.5 sacks, so the matchups were potentially disastrous for New York. The Giants hung around early but turnovers and special teams ineffectiveness doomed New York as the Chiefs pulled away late for a 31-7 victory.
The last time this happened to Big Blue, they won only six games and missed the postseason entirely. Now there seems to be a gloomy feel of history repeating itself.
