Baby In Serious Condition Following Overnight Queens Fire

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Three people, including a baby girl, were hospitalized after a fire broke out at an apartment overnight in Queens.

It happened around 2 a.m. Friday in a first floor apartment of a building on Parsons Boulevard in Flushing.

Fire officials said the flames were confined to the apartment, but the smoke was so thick that neighbors had to evacuate to the roof.

The baby is reported to be in serious condition from smoke inhalation. Two adults also have minor injuries. The victims were all rushed to New York Hospital.

The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
