NYC's Nuttiest Confection Shops

You may already be aware of the health benefits of the delicious, nutrient-filled seeds, but do you know anywhere outside a midtown Nuts 4 Nuts cart where you can grab some authentic NYC nutty treats? We also have a simple recipe for a sweet and salty almond snack.

The Nut Box

Boerum Hill, Brooklyn

Find everything from your raw almonds to organic, unsalted pepita nut seeds – and every things in between – at The Nut Box. What was once a small, independently-owned store on Brooklyn's Smith Street now has locations in Chelsea and Greenwich Village.

Peanut Butter & Company

240 Sullivan Street (btw. West 3rd and Bleecker)
New York, NY 10012
(212) 677-3995
Reviews & More Info

Some call this storefront overpriced, but perhaps that's because the cozy, "mom & pop" feel of this downtown Peanut Butter and Sandwich shop is hard to come by these days. You can enjoy a gourmet peanut butter and jelly sandwich, or take home a jar of their specialty blends (dark chocolate peanut butter? Yes please!). We recommend the Death by Peanut Butter Sundae – it actually is to die for.

Okay, so Chock Full O' Nuts is actually a coffee shop. We know. But you can't ignore the history behind the place, described by company franchising VP Jim LaGanke as "contemporized retro." The new NYC location opened in September and offers whole wheat donuts - and nut-based delights, like the cream cheese nut bread sandwiches. There's also a Hoboken location.
