Molotov Thrown Into Real Estate Exec's Rye Home
RYE, N.Y. (WCBS 880/AP) -- Police are trying to figure out who threw a Molotov cocktail into the Westchester County home of a prominent real estate executive.
Jonathan Resnick, president of Jack Resnick & Sons, used a fire extinguisher to douse the flames at his Rye home early Wednesday morning before police arrived.
Police say an intruder climbed a stone wall and tossed a flaming bottle of liquid at a porch window, hitting the window frame and splattering flames into the living room. Police believe the bottled contained grain alcohol.
WCBS 880's Catherine Cioffi reported Resnick, his wife and their 3-year-old son were treated for smoke inhalation at the home.

Detective Lieutenant Joseph Varille said the incident was not a random act.
"Usually this type of crime is a target. It's usually not a random incident when it's directed at a private home," Varille said.
