Bananas Donated To Prison Packed With $18 Million Worth Of Cocaine
HOUSTON (CBSNewYork) - Bananas donated to a Texas prison turned out to be hiding millions of dollars worth of cocaine.
Corrections authorities in Houston say when sergeants arrived Friday to pick up the boxes, they found bundles of the white powdery substance under some of them.
There were a total of 540 bags containing a total worth of nearly $18 million.
Federal authorities and U.S. customs officials are investigating.
