6/11 CBS2 Thursday Evening Weather Headlines
By Giorgio Panetta
CBS2 Chief Meteorologist/Weather Producer
Good evening everyone,
It's now officially the hottest day of the year so far for New York City. We hit 89° just before 3 p.m.
The humidity was no joke today, with real feels in the low 90s. Newark hit 92° with places in inland New Jersey hitting the mid 90s.
There is an air quality alert until 10 p.m. tonight. I wouldn't be surprised if the alert will be re-issued tomorrow.
There is a heat advisory for a few counties in New Jersey tomorrow. There will be real feel temps nearing 100°.
Saturday is hot again, with the morning low starting off in the upper 70s...A real launching pad for big heat.
Check back in soon for the latest.
