Four muggings were reported in downtown Minneapolis between Aug. 12 and Aug. 19, and police are still searching for the people responsible. Minneapolis Police put out an alert to warn residents and visitors in downtown about the string of robberies. City resident Mandella Henderson says the muggings are unsettling to think about.
Police say a group of three to five black males have been targeting those walking alone – day or night – in downtown Minneapolis, and robbing them of their wallets, purses and or cell phones. Minneapolis police said four muggings have taken place between Aug. 12 and Aug. 19. The suspects are in their late teens, or early 20s. They target lone individuals and some victims have been pushed or punched.
The Minneapolis Police Department has extra patrols out Wednesday morning in at least one neighborhood after a toddler, teenager and pregnant woman were all shot Tuesday night. Authorities said the incident happened at about 5:30 p.m. Tuesday last night near 30th Street and Lyndale Avenue North.
The Minneapolis Police Department is asking for the public's help to find a violin worth thousands of dollars that was taken during a theft from a vehicle on Monday.
