Midday showers possible Monday in Twin Cities
MINNEAPOLIS — Monday will be warm and breezy, with passing showers possible in the afternoon.
After a dry morning in the Twin Cities, wind and warmth will increase as the day goes on, with a forecasted high of 68 degrees.
A trough will shift across the Upper Midwest and create a few showers in the metro between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.
The National Weather Service issued red flag warnings for Clay, Kittison, Marshall, Norman, Polk and Wilkin counties through 8 p.m. due to extreme fire risk.
On Tuesday, areas up north will see passing showers on the back edge of the disturbance, but it won't be anything significant. Showers could bubble up in the metro in the afternoon as well.
Widespread frost is likely Tuesday night into early Wednesday. During the day on Wednesday, we'll see a sunny sky and a high near 60.
Thursday will be even warmer, with more sun and wind.
Rain returns Friday and lingers into Saturday, before another chance comes in late Sunday.
The best chance for dry time this weekend is Saturday evening through Sunday morning.
