A person with a gun who authorities said was making threats in Yellowstone National Park died after a shootout with park rangers, officials said in a statement.
"Some actions by visitors have led to the endangerment of people and wildlife and resulted in the death of wildlife," the park said.
Foul play is not suspected in his death, park officials said.
For the second time in just a week, a bison attacked a tourist at Yellowstone National Park after they got too close to their territory. The 71-year-old woman from Pennsylvania is expected to be okay.
This is the second report in three days of bison attacking tourists in the park, and the third report in a month.
The flooding triggered evacuations, cut off electricity and forced Yellowstone officials to close all entrances indefinitely.
All entrances to Yellowstone were closed due to the deluge, caused by heavy rains and melting snowpack, while park officials ushered tourists out of the most affected areas.
