The victims were sitting inside of a car parked on the side of Van Nuys Boulevard when a car pulled up alongside them and fired multiple shots before fleeing from the area.
The cause of the break, located at the intersection of Wellington Road and Coliseum Street, was not immediately known.
Residents were urged to stay out of the water until further notice as a particularly high presence of harmful algal blooms were detected in both Lake Elsinore and Big Bear Lake.
