Police said that the shooting stemmed from an altercation. Two people were taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
A 17-year-old boy was among those killed.
The shooter is still at large in the shooting that occurred at around 6 p.m. Sunday evening.
The crash occurred just before 2:15 a.m., and when officers arrived they found one abandoned vehicle, and one another person trapped in their car.
Oscar Orozco was scheduled to be released in Feb. 2023 after being imprisoned for carjacking.
The shooting was first reported at around 11:30 a.m., with reports that one victim was killed.
The suspects attempted to flee into the mall, exiting the vehicle while it was still moving. The suspects were reportedly wanted in connection with an armed robbery in South L.A.
The man was pronounced dead on the scene just before 2:30 a.m. Saturday morning.
Anaheim police have officially charged Andrew Pio in connection with the attempted kidnapping of a 13-year-old girl on her way home from school last week. He was detained following a lengthy pursuit through Anaheim on Friday.
Authorities were made aware of the operation by several anonymous tips. They recovered an undisclosed of cash and an unregistered firearm from the residence.
Both victims were reported to be juveniles by Santa Ana Police.
Three suspects, including a parolee, suffered significant injuries when their vehicle, containing eight stolen catalytic converters, collided into a sheriff's SUV in Valencia Saturday, injuring a deputy inside, authorities said.
Both victims were transported due to wounds sustained in the shooting. Neither of their conditions was immediately known.
Freddy Gomez, 36, was shot while driving on the 710 freeway. He died an hour later.
