Two Ohio men will stand trial in connection to the homicide of a man whose body was found in a Lenawee County cornfield in 1997, officials said.
Kirk June, 54, is charged with one count of willful neglect of duty. With the plea, he is required to resign from the sheriff's office.
The dog was removed from the home and later put to sleep.
According to troopers, speed and alcohol do not appear to be factors in the crash.
Crews worked around the clock Thursday to get their lights back, clearing downed trees and power lines which closed many streets throughout Lenawee County.
