The incident occurred just before 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 8. A 34-year-old man was standing outside in the 6700 block of South Cottage Grove Avenue when three people got out of a newer-model white Toyota Highlander, and two of them fired shots in the victim’s direction, killing him.
