The State/Lake Loop 'L' stop has now closed, and won't reopen for three years, as the historic station is completely demolished and rebuilt.

Police said the robbery happened early Saturday, Aug. 30, in the 900 block of West Lake Street in the Fulton Market District. The Morgan Street Green and Pink Line stop is located at that address.
The victim was shot in the chest at Halsted and Lake streets and was taken to Stroger Hospital of Cook County, where he was pronounced dead.
Police said a 38-year-old man was outside near Halsted and Lake streets around 2:50 a.m., and got into a quarrel with two men. One of the men shot him.
Police said the driver of a blue sedan ran a rede light and plowed into another car at Hamlin Boulevard and Lake Street.
The victim was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in critical condition.
A male and three kids were also injured in the crash in the West Garfield Park neighborhood.
No citations were issued in the crash. The police Major Accident Investigation Unit is investigating.
A freight train carrying boxcars was stopped on the tracks near Lake Street and Laramie Avenue, and thieves were seen stealing items from boxcars that were sitting open.
The man was stabbed during a quarrel with another man at State and Lake streets downtown.
