A month's worth of rain fell in three hours.

The clean-up effort is still underway in Calumet City where severe flooding caused major headaches, nearly two weeks later some are still struggling to get answers. CBS 2's Andrew Ramos has an update.
FEMA said so far, it has given out more than $150 million in assistance to 42,000 households and more than $32 million in small business disaster loans.

The storm system that brought the flooding this past weekend was a weather event that no municipality could've prepared for, according to officials in Calumet City. CBS 2's Andrew Ramos reports.
The south suburb was hit hard with what some are describing as a 500-year flooding event – and they now have an action plan in place to help those impacted. CBS 2's Andrew Ramos reports.

According to First Street, it's becoming more expensive to insure property because of natural disasters made worse by climate change. CBS News' Ben Tracy reports.

CBS 2's Andrew Ramos reports officials with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) were already on the ground in Calumet City after rainfall caused major flooding in the same area back in June.
"We've had issues with flooding in our alleys. Our alleys are not paved. Our taxes continue to go up."
Places like Dolton and Calumet City saw waters rise up to nine inches in a matter of hours, causing major problems for homeowners still reeling from other storms. CBS 2's Andrew Ramos spoke to frustrated residents.
Within just a matter of hours, up to 9 inches of rain drenched Chicago's south suburbs.
