A Cook County jury awarded the family of the man who died $10 million, and the man who suffered a traumatic brain injury $23 million. CBS 2 Investigator Megan Hickey reports.
A total of $33.5 million was paid out to the family of a man killed during an attempted police stop in Dolton, and another man who was severely injured. CBS 2 Investigator Megan Hickey reports.
Police say alcohol was a factor with the driver of the other vehicle.
So far there have been no reports of any injuries.
When the girl was questioned by detectives, she was not forthcoming with information, police said.
"What you have here is absolutely a legal rollercoaster," said CBS 2 Legal Analyst Irv Miller.
Mayor Tiffany Henyard was sworn in as Dolton’s mayor just over a year ago. On Tuesday, voters recalled her -- but court cases have held everything up. CBS 2's Jermont Terry reports.
It happened around 1:07 a.m. in the 600 block of Sibley Boulevard.
She is the youngest person, first woman and first African American to hold that office.
