The Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) said Blue Line trains were halted at the Cumberland stop for a period of time Tuesday because of a medical emergency on the tracks.
Service has been restored between Western/ Milwaukee Avenue and LaSalle Street.
Demolition begins next month on the tracks with the project being finished in 2025.
