The Department of Justice is suing the City of Boston, Mayor Michelle Wu and Police Commissioner Michael Cox over the city's immigration policies.
A federal judge on Friday blocked the Trump administration from cutting off federal funding from dozens of "sanctuary" cities and counties — covering several of the largest cities in the U.S.
This comes after Boston Mayor Michelle Wu told the Justice Department she would stand by Boston's Trust Act, which prevents local officials from detaining someone for immigration.
Boston Mayor Michelle Wu held a news conference Tuesday to respond to a letter from Attorney General Pam Bondi.
