Freeze warning, breezy winds hit North Texas after front moves through; expect record highs late week

Low temperatures on Monday dipped into the 30s and even below freezing for some across North Texas. Another frigid morning is in the forecast for Tuesday morning, with lows around or even below freezing again.

A few clouds will be in the sky, but dry conditions will be present Monday night. Radiational cooling will take place overnight, allowing temperatures to dip near or even below freezing Tuesday morning. A First Alert has been issued and will stay in effect tonight through 9 a.m. Tuesday. Be sure to bundle up and protect any sensitive vegetation.

Temperatures will quickly climb into the middle 60s, making for a very nice afternoon to celebrate St. Patrick's Day.

A ridge of high pressure builds through the rest of the week. A near record high is in the forecast on Friday, the first day of spring equinox. Temperatures will be in the low 90s for the weekend.
