Trevor Sochocki is an award-winning reporter for CBS News Texas Mornings and joined the station in September 2024.
Before arriving in the Lone Star State, Trevor spent two years in the Sunshine State at WFLA in Tampa, Florida. While there, he covered five major hurricanes, including Ian, Idalia and Debby, multiple tornadoes and other severe weather events. He reported on the 2022 midterms, the state's insurance crisis, Gov. Ron DeSantis's presidential run and everything else under the sun.
Prior to his time in Florida, Trevor was a reporter and weekend morning anchor at WNEM in Saginaw and Flint, Michigan. During his two years in the Mitten, Trevor won a Michigan Association of Broadcasters award for his coverage of hunger and food insecurity during the COVID-19 pandemic.
At TV5, Trevor covered the plot (and subsequent trial) of militia members to kidnap Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, armed protests at the state capitol, the Flint Water Crisis and the Oxford school shooting. Of course, he also covered his fair share of weather, including multiple tornadoes, blizzards and floods - including the recovery from the historic floods of 2020.
A proud Trojan and alumni of the University of Southern California (Fight On!), Trevor graduated with a degree in Journalism and a minor in International Relations. As a reporter and anchor for Annenberg Media, he covered the death of Kobe Bryant, the college admissions scandal and the Woolsey Fire.
When he's not on your television, you can find Trevor exploring new recipes in his kitchen (send along your Texas favorites!), binging his favorite seasons of Survivor, completing crossword puzzles (compete against him here) and word games or running the roads and trails around Dallas.
