Texas mortician Bernie Tiede was convicted in 1999 of shooting and killing a wealthy widow and stashing her body in a freezer for months. The story inspired a Richard Linklater film entitled "Bernie." But Tiede's life sentence was thrown out in 2014 after new evidence emerged. Now, Tiede returns to court for resentencing. For the first time, government scientists are including man-made quakes on its earthquake hazard map

A 4.2-magnitude earthquake rattked nerves in Crescent, Oklahoma Tuesday. There are no reports of damage. The quake hit just hours after the release of a disturbing new government report that shows seismic activity in parts of the country's midsection are now as dangerous as in California and Alaska. For the first time, government scientists are including man-made quakes on its earthquake hazard map. CBS News science and futurist contributor Michio Kaku -- also a physics professor at the City University of New York -- joins “CBS This Morning” to explain the cause and dangers of the growing threat and preventive measures.

Much of the town of Deweyville, Texas is underwater

Violent weather pounding the Midwest left a trail of destruction. There are reports of multiple tornadoes that touched down Tuesday. Animals were rescued when one hit northwest of Springfield, Illinois. Other areas saw high winds that knocked over trucks and damaged homes. Hail the size of golf balls poured down. No one was reported hurt. Flooding is still a major concern in the South. David Begnaud reports from Deweyville, Texas, where much of the town is underwater.
