Hanna becomes tropical depression as Hawaii braces for Hurricane Douglas; Civil rights icon John Lewis to lie in state at U.S. Capitol
In the Gulf of Mexico, Hurricane Hanna became the first hurricane of the 2020 season to form in the Atlantic. The storm was upgraded to hurricane status early on Saturday morning while approaching landfall in Southern Texas. It is just one of three storms expected to make landfall in the U.S. this weekend. CBS News meteorologist and climate specialist Jeff Berardelli has the latest.

Hurricane Hanna made landfall in South Texas on Saturday, the first hurricane to make landfall in 2020. Meanwhile, Hurricane Douglas in the Pacific is still a threat to Hawaii, even though it is not expected to make direct landfall. Jeff Berardelli has the forecast.
In the Atlantic, Hanna was downgraded to a tropical depression as it pummeled south Texas. Meanwhile, Hawaii is bracing for what's described as a "triple threat" from Hurricane Douglas. Janet Shamlian has the latest.
