Volunteers were hard at work early on Thanksgiving morning, getting meals ready to help more than 1,000 people in need.
Jerrel Gilliam is spending 24 hours in the cold all in an effort to educate the public on what those who are homeless face.
Good Friday was a day of service as the Light of Life Rescue Mission began preparing meals to provide this weekend.
The new facility will serve as a longer-term transitional facility that helps people get back on their feet.
With a new space set to open in August, the mission has not changed for Light of Life.
