New North Shore Co-Working Space Officially Opens

NORTH SHORE (KDKA) -- The building that once housed the Allegheny Center Mall and a Woolworths was given new life as a co-working tech space at its official opening Wednesday.

The 50,000 square foot space, called Nova Place, is now home to Alloy 26. The building offers space to entrepreneurs and start-ups looking for high-tech offices and amenities. Interested companies join on a month-to-month membership basis, which gives companies a flexible space to work without being bound by a long-term lease.

Faros Properties purchased the vacant building in fall of 2015.

"Alloy 26 will be the largest and most inspiring workspace in the region," Faros Properties managing partner, Jeremy Leventhal, said in a release. "We have invested tremendous resources specifically into this space to attract entrepreneurs, artists, designers, as well as technology companies."

Some local companies have already become members, including the mobile app company Covey, hardware company Velocity Robotics, software company ContainerShip, and Abililife, a company that engineered a device to aid Parkinson's patients.
