The Pennsylvania SPCA is hosting a "Lonely Hearts" adoption event on Feb. 19 to help dogs that have been in the shelter for more than a year find their forever homes.
Officer Steve Byrne, a senior detective with Chester police, is recovering at Crozer-Chester Medical Center after he was shot while trying to pull over a driver on Feb. 17. The suspect crashed following a brief chase, got out of his car and started shooting at Byrne, who returned fire, investigators said. The driver, who hasn't been identified yet, died at the hospital.
