Cheers for health care workers may have sounded a bit louder one recent night on the Upper East Side.
According to police, a livery cab driver and his passenger got into a dispute. The passenger got out of the cab and spat on the driver and slashed him on the right hand.
Investigators said 54-year-old said Mohamad Al-Gahaffi, who was also a livery driver, was beaten so badly he was taken to a local hospital with severe head trauma and placed into a coma.
The attack happened back on Feb. 12 at the 86th Street and Second Avenue station.
It happened around 4:25 a.m. on Feb. 5 on the Upper East Side.
Firefighters say the blaze started around 9 p.m. on the 25th floor of the building at East 84th Street and First Avenue.
