Duane "Keffe D" Davis was sentenced to 40 years to life in prison Tuesday in Las Vegas for the 1996 murder of rapper Tupac Shakur.
The man who prosecutors say orchestrated the 1996 killing of rap icon Tupac Shakur, Duane "Keffe D" Davis, is on trial almost 30 years after the drive-by shooting in Las Vegas.
A section of MacArthur Boulevard near where he lived in the 1990s became Tupac Shakur Way after a ceremony on Friday in Oakland, California.
Shakur was gunned down in 1996 while waiting at a red light near the Las Vegas Strip in a BMW driven by Death Row Records founder Marion "Suge" Knight.
Tupac wore the custom, self-designed ring during his final public appearance at the 1996 MTV Video Music Awards, a little over a week before his shooting death.
The rap legend wore the gold, ruby and diamond crown ring during his last public appearance in September 1996. He was shot to death days later.
The items were taken from the home of Duane Keith Davis, 60, in Henderson, Nevada.
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department searched a home in Henderson, less than 20 miles from the Las Vegas Strip where Shakur was gunned down in 1996.
