37-Foot Humpback Whale Found Dead On Westhampton Beach
WESTHAMPTON, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- A 37-foot female humpback whale washed ashore Sunday in Westhampton.
The whale was discovered deceased at Cupsogue Beach County Park.
The Atlantic Marine Conservation Society said this is the first large whale to strand in New York this year.
A team is working to secure the equipment needed to remove the whale as early as tomorrow.
