NYC's 5 Best Public Events for New York Fashion Week 2014
Fall fashion collections are gracing New York's runways for Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week now through February 13. All of you bloggers and fashionistas can add these open-to-the-public events to your schedule to take part in the week's glamour and fun.
Start the weekend off right at Skyroom as Prive Group hosts a special Fashion Week night out. Beginning at 10 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 7, you can schmooze with international models, fashion editors, designers, famous artists and actors at the tallest indoor and outdoor club in New York City. Friday happy hour is a coveted pasttime for many New Yorkers. Now you can enjoy happy hour specials while also celebrating the start of New York Fashion Week with your favorite fashionistas at the AMIGOS NYC Fashion Week Happy Hour at The DL! AMIGOS NYC, a summer abroad service learning program for high school and college students, teamed up with Fashion Week and The DL to offer drink specials from 5- 8 p.m. and a sponsored vodka open bar from 9 - 10 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 7. Ever want to go to an official New York Fashion Week party but thought you wouldn't be able to score a ticket? Well think again! Break out your best fashion-forward ensemble and join the rich and famous of the fashion industry at the Official Fashion Week Party At Lincoln Center hosted at the The Empire Hotel Rooftop across the street. The party starts at 9 p.m. on Feb. 8. Hotel Belleclaire is one of the hot hotel destinations during this year's New York Fashion Week. Walking distance from Lincoln Center, the historic Upper West Side hotel is hosting one of Fashion Week's pop-up shops featuring the new spring collection by Stella & Dot (a social selling company of boutique-style jewelry and accessories), as well as raffles, giveaways and guest exclusives. From Feb. 10-13, stop by Hotel Belleclaire between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. to shop, get a blow out or updo by a stylist, and celebrate Fashion Week in style! Admission is free and open to the public.
Looking for the ultimate day of Fashion Week shopping, cocktails and snacks? Look no further because the Emerging Designers' Trunk Show hosted at Noir et Blanc is sure to fit the bill. Nestled into New York City's Flatiron District, Noir et Blanc boasts as being "a contemporary boutique for today's woman." The event will feature brands including Claire Bee, Amber Poitierand, lingerie by Ana Segura Signature, and handbags by Mary Lai New York. Shopping begins at noon on Wednesday, Feb. 12. Cocktails and hors d'oeuvres begin at 6 p.m. Admission is free but you can register to attend here.
