Rainy weather to continue Thursday around NYC area
The wet, windy weather continues Thursday around the New York City area, and the rain could be heavy at times.
It's another First Alert Weather Day, before conditions start to clear for the holiday weekend.
Tracking rain around N.Y. & N.J.
This morning got off to a soggy start with widespread rain, and even some downpours across Long Island. That said, through lunchtime, this will be our best chance of observing ponding on roadways and localized flooding.
The afternoon commute will be impacted as well, but we're expecting a lighter rain by that point. So, the flood threat should diminish by that point, but you'll still need the wipers on.
Memorial Day Weekend forecast
We'll finally catch a break on Friday with primarily dry conditions. However, isolated to scattered showers will remain in the forecast, so keep the umbrella handy. As for temperatures, they'll struggle through the 50s much of the day.
Looking ahead to the holiday weekend, things will dry out, with temperatures gradually returning to normal.
