CBS2 New Year's Eve Afternoon Weather Headlines

We'll see a mix of sun & clouds this afternoon, and it will still be on the cool side, with highs near 50°. It will be on the chilly side for the ball drop with temperatures right around 40°, with wind chills right around 35°.

It will be a little more of a struggle into your New Year's Day as a colder air mass settles in. Highs will only top out near 45° -- but for early January, that's not too bad, and should be in the upper 30s.

Sunshine will dominate into Saturday and it will be even colder, only making it into the low 40s by the end of the day.

It looks like it stays dry and chilly right through early next week.
