If you've never been to a rodizio, this is the perfect starting place. All you can eat meat organized: on each table is a double sided peg; one side is red, one side is green. Flip the red or green side up, depending on if you're ready to quit or rarin' to go... for more meat! The servers will keep coming around with meat on big metal skewers, waiting to be sliced onto your plate and into your hungry tummy, until the red side is flipped up. There's also a cold foods buffet off to one side to pad out your meal with salads, cold cuts, and other side dishes, and along another side is a hot food buffet to satisfy your non-grilled meats needs. Don't leave until you've conquered it all... the afternoon nap will be awesome.

Though not all you can eat, Ipanema is no slouch when it comes to deliciousness. Start your meal with the fried, spiced sausage (pictured) and marvel at how such a simple thing - fried slices of sausage! - could bring such joy to your mouth. Save room for the main event, though: bife de portugesa, steak topped with a fried egg (if you want the yolk runny - and you do - make this clear to the waiter, or it will arrive fully cooked), drowned in the most delicious garlic sauce you'll ever taste. Try as you might, you'll find it impossible to resist soaking your fried potatoes and all of your rice in that sauce, just to get every last drop in your belly. When you glance up, in a daze, you'll realize all the sauce is gone, the crazy look in your eye has frightened your friends, and you just want... more... of that sauce. Amazing.

Another rodizio for another meat coma: Churrascaria Plataforma is well known for its meat parade, stopping only when you flip your card to red. Tender cuts of beef, lamb, rabbit, pork, chicken - name the animal, and it's likely they have it - all make their way past your plate via servers carrying large skewers with hunks of meat hanging from them. The side items buffet is also great, but why waste stomach space on that? Eat every animal that's socially acceptable to eat in New York, and then some, before you succumb to the meat sweats. And if this location is too far from you, they have a sister restaurant down in TriBeCa.
